BIOGRAPHY

Mahogany Reynolds, a native of Detroit, Michigan, seamlessly transitioned from a highly successful model, to an on-the-rise actress in New York. After having booked numerous print, runway, and commercial modeling gigs across the U.S. and Toronto, Canada; for major designers and corporations, Mahogany decided to focus on building her acting career.

A decision that continues to prove itself wise.

Thus far, Mahogany has landed several lead and supporting roles in Film, TV and Theatre. Her first on-camera role in New York, was on the set of the legendary day-time drama, "The Guiding Light"; where she portrayed a spunky college girl. Since then, Mahogany continues to steadily book work by showing her range. Mahogany is a triple-threat, she can sing, dance, and act. She's played a variety of roles; from mentally ill homeless woman, to sexy femme fatale.

And she's only just begun...

Mahogany landed a supporting role in a Sci-Fi film, "Tenebrae Lux”, that was accepted into the Cannes Film Festival. The director, Ryan Boran, (director of "Devils and Dust"), created the role of the intimidating Lieutenant Sims; specifically for Mahogany, after he realized she could pull off a villain role with ease.

Internationally known director, Todd Verow (Bangor Films}, saw something unique in Mahogany; when he booked her for the lead role, in his critically acclaimed film "The Boy With The Sun in His Eyes"; based off the book by James Derek Dwyer. For the film, Mahogany taught herself to speak French, German and Italian; to portray the mysterious "Solange"; a seductive hit-woman and former pop-star. This film was shot across Europe, in Milan, Berlin, and Paris. Mahogany also trained in firearms for this role, as "Solange" always kept her '45 close by. During the filming, Mahogany performed live, in a Berlin night-club, the pop/disco song she recorded for the film’s soundtrack. "Robots are UnAmerican" was remixed by well-known DJs in three different countries. She framed the vinyl album as a keepsake. This film can be found on NetFlex and Amazon.

Prior to becoming a full-time working actress; Mahogany graduated college with degrees in Liberal Arts, majoring in journalism and communications. Mahogany worked as both a print journalist, as well as, an on-camera reporter. Upon relocating to New York, Mahogany held the position of Marketing Manager for The Source Magazine; the legendary hip-hop magazine. She also served as Marketing Manager for Queen Latifah's record label Flava Unit Records. Despite how rewarding those positions were, Mahogany knew that while she prided herself in helping artists pursue their careers, that her passion to become an actress kept pulling at her heart-strings.

And with that fortitude to follow her passion, Mahogany shares her gifts and talents with the youth in her community. Mahogany founded "Just Be You Performing Arts"; a mentoring and enrichment organization for young people who desire a career in the arts. Mahogany conducts workshops, teaching her students the skills needed to build a successful career with longevity, not just 15-minutes of fame.

Mahogany is also the owner of Dreams to Visions Productions; with plans to work behind the scenes; producing films and stage plays. Which includes; an adaptation of her semi-autobiographical novel, “Searching for my Destiny.”

Mahogany's goal is to become a formidable force in the performing arts world. She pays it forward, by sharing her gifts, through mentoring young new talent, and volunteer work. Mahogany is also a marketing, branding and PR expert and provides her services to businesses, organizations, and non-profits.
